Amazing, as usual

I have seen Morrissey dozens of times over the past 20 years or so, and personally, I have never experienced a "bad" show. However - this was one of THE best. He sounded great, he was in good spirits, making several jokes, the band was great - everything about the performance was absolutely awesome. What DID put a damper on the evening, having nothing to do with the artist but the venue, was that the employees at the door wanted to hold us up from getting to our seats to wait for the house manager, because they were questioning the attendance of my 8 month old son (worn in a carrier and with noise cancelling headphones on). First, they tried to say he needed a ticket - WRONG. I obviously wouldn't show up to a concert with an infant just hoping to bring him in - I researched and confirmed pre-show that children under 2 did not require a ticket for this show. And they were quite snobbish about it, saying, "well THIS is Broadway, the rules are different, EVERYONE requires a ticket" - um, no. Secondly, they seemed to be questioning our parenting choice to bring our child to a concert, stating that "you know it can get very loud and really crazy with the lights and everything in there, right?". Duh. I'm 45 years old, have been to hundreds, if not thousands of concerts, and this is my third child I've taken to a show as a baby. After about 15 minutes waiting, the house manager indeed came down and told us what we already knew, apologizing for the "learning curve" (?). We made it to our seats right before the show began, so - the holdup was definitely inconvenient, but ultimately all was good.
